My first trip to see the Cherry Blossoms in full bloom at the University of Washington was totally surreal. It was 4 years ago when I was pregnant with my son, and when I came out of the dark parking garage, up to the Quad, the image blew me away so much that I actually teared up. The picture of the huge Cherry trees in full light pink bloom, the green grass, all surrounded by these beautiful huge buildings just took my breath away and that moment will be burned into my brain forever. It was so soft, lovely and totally “spring”…If you have never been to the University of Washington during the Cherry Blossoms….put it on your bucket list. Bring a blanket and a book…and a camera.
Anyway….on to Joe and Sharon! What a fun, genuine couple. It was so fun to spend the afternoon photographing them…climbing trees, jumping off benches and participating in FST* (*FST: Forced Snuggle Time- a phrase coined by Joe…who has spent time in the US Army, serving our country…so his abbreviation totally made sense!).
I truly cannot wait for their 2 Weddings. yes. 2. One Indian Ceremony at a temple & One Western Ceremony at the World Trade Center in Seattle. For some reason, Sharon kept down playing the Indian Ceremony….but I was totally uber excited about the whole thing. Here are just of the few things I am looking forward to:
- a 30 lb. dress to be worn by Sharon, straight from India
- a sword – to be wielded by Joe
- henna
- lovely pointed shoes
Um. What else can a photographer ask for? Not a whole lot! Be watching for these images to drop on the blog in late August!
