Again and again, for the last 7 years, I have found that the world keeps getting smaller and smaller. I met the famous Bobbi Roth (seasttle wedding planner extraordinaire) through one of those strange course of events that leaves you scratching your head and smiling....saying to yourself...its such a small world. So here goes: I went to WPPI on a whim...booked my flight on friday afternoon, left sunday at 6 am.
So when I heard that Richard and Katy were getting married at the Seattle Public Library...I gasped and was jumping up and down inside. I think it has been one of my dreams to photograph a wedding at this amazing Seattle Wedding Venue....what? Wedding venue?? Yes! They actually do weddings at that incredible structure in downtown Seattle. If you have never been there, it is a must see....experience and savor. Ok...enough about the Seattle Library, on to Winston the super docile lab who was super well behaved.....until he saw a squirrel...then he was on a mission to get that darn thing! We had so much fun shooting their engagement session at Marymoor Park....my 2nd time to my new favorite park! I loved that Richard and Katy met on a site called OK Cupid. If you could see them, you would see just how well online dating really works! Theirs will be the
I had so much fun this weekend at the Snohomish Wedding Tour! I was located at one of my very favorite Snohomish Wedding Venues : Swan's Trail Farm. It is one of the most lovely venues I have ever seen. I love history and nostalgia, and this place has both. The fact that it still has some of its rustic elements is one of my very favorite features! It as a pond, barns, an old turquoise car, a beautiful view and still has great bathrooms (very important!!!). Back to the wedding tour!:) I decided that I was going to mix it up this year and wanted to do a fun and kitschy photo booth. It ended up being as fun as I had hoped! For the brave couples and brides that jumped in, they are entered to win a free Engagement Session, and the voting is located here on my Facebook
Seattle Fashion Week| Vera Wang Wedding Collection hosted by Marcella's La Boutique….and I was there!
May 19, 2010Vera Wang. What can you say about Vera Wang's Wedding Dresses. Of course you can say they are beautiful, stunning...something to be awed and desired. And yes, they are. How I ended up at Seattle's Fashion Week shooting backstage for the Vera Wang Collection is kinda crazy and a lot wonderful. :) It goes a little something like a 7 degrees of separation game, but this time not with Kevin Bacon but with Vera Wang...or her 2010 Wedding Collection, rather. Snohomish Wedding Guild + Laura Marchbanks (amazing photographer and all around fun human being) + Laura getting married and went searching for her perfect wedding gown at Marcella's La Boutique in Seattle + Lindsay ( Wedding Dress Consultant Extrordinaire at Marcella's) + Laura being a good daughter and going to Portland the same weekend as Seattle Fashion Week + Me having an open Saturday = Me at Seattle Fashion Week
I just loved the look of this wedding party! I loved the girls dresses....so cute, and they can actually wear them again (love that! Brides...that is such a nice gift to your bridesmaids...a cute dress they can wear again!). And then the guys...I love this new trend of the bowtie. Seriously...its such a classic look. Never goes out of style. These guys were so much fun. We were fortunate to have some really great weather...some sun and some overcast...but it didn't rain a drop! Yay! Something about wedding in Washington make me so thankful every time we have a wedding without rain!
Redmond Engagement Session | Marymoor Park
May 11, 2010Ah! The sun! Yes! It decided to come out today, and for a photographer in Seattle, its one of my favorite things. I can always shoot in the overcast weather, but I love it when a little sunshine gets through those clouds every once and a while! Today I got to visit a new park with Danielle, Ryan and Mia (their darling golden retriever!). We hung out at Marymoor Park (the play movies in the park! I love this place!!)...it was so beautiful! I love it when I get to photograph people who really like being around each other, people that have a good time together, people that are really a good match.....Danielle and Ryan...are such a great match. You can tell that they really enjoy each other's personality! I loved hanging out with them, capturing their fun was...so much fun. I can't wait for their big day (with ultra cool
Ok. Here is the deal. I LOVE birdcage veils. I love the vintage old glamor feel of them. I love the sass that they possess...and the brides that wear them have a little sass too. They are chic, retro and modern all wrapped up in one lovely package...sitting on a brides head. Love. LOVE. THEN I found these colored birdcage veils that I just love too! Who would be funky enough, chic enough to wear these purple or turquoise veils? Or maybe a white one for the ceremony, and a colored veil for the reception??? Oh my, that would be divine! So therefore....I am on a quest! I would love to offer a Complimentary Bridal Session to one bride with a birdcage veil and a wedding dress!:) If you know anyone with a birdcage veil and a dress...email me for the details! Find this veil here. I am in love with these brightly
So this is the 2nd time that I have photographed someone's Senior Portraits, then their wedding. Yikes! Does that mean I am getting super old? I don't feel old. So I guess I'm not!:) I had so much fun at this wedding! These guys made me laugh! References to Taladega Nights and all. :) I love, Love, LOVE photographing the couple together. Its my very favorite part of the day. VERY Favorite!!! I love seeing their faces as they see each other decked out in their wedding attire.....ready to spend their first day together as man and wife. I love seeing their faces as they start to relax and enjoy their time together....its oh so fun. :) Ah! I love my job!
Whatcom Falls....UH-MAZE-ING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my goodness! I had so much frun tromping around this park! It was all new to me, and the stomping grounds for Breann & Travis! So many great places! I am so thankful they shared this great place with me! Can't wait for their big day in September!!
