For 7 plus years I have been shooting weddings. Basically the same story....bride gets ready, bride & groom meet, bride and groom kiss, their wedding party comes along, then the ceremony and then we rock out at the reception. For the first time in 7 years...I had no idea what was going to happen next. At Joe & Sharon's Sikh wedding ceremony, I was a follower. It was a colorful adventure...full of some pretty different and cool stuff. Cool Stuff at the Sikh Ceremony: Amazingly beautiful and relaxing music (sikh prayers set to sweet drums and some other crazy instrument that sounds like a cross between an accordion and a bag pipe). incredible colors: Sari's in every yummy color you could imagine (pink, blue, sea foam, magenta, turquoise and of course, Sharon's bright red.) New Rituals: The groom leading the bride around the holy book 4 times, being helped by his friends and

So I have known Curtis, the groom since I was about 14 yrs. old. He rocked the drums in the youth group band....I was a back-up singer. He would indulge my love for the cow bell once and a while...and knows that I like alot of kick drum on 1-2-3&4. He has always been a super nice guy...and has found a super nice girl to dance through the rest of his life with. They reconnected on facebook....another one of those online things that blossoms! It was so wonderful to see both of them so in love! She started dancing for exercise (and if you've ever watched Dancing with the Stars, you know its a total workout!), then danced competitively...and he took up dancing to spend more time with her...now they will be getting married at the amazing Premier Ballroom ! They are even going to teach the guests a dance
I can't even tell you how much I was looking forward to Jamie & David's Wedding. At my meeting with Jamie, we just clicked....and when she told me that she was so glad I was blonde....I knew I she was my kind of bride! Their engagement Session was amazing and was the perfect set up for this wonderful wedding on the beach! I have always loved Camano Island and shot one of my first weddings there (on film!!!) over 6 years ago. Here are a few...just to wet your whistle...more on the way! I just loved the colors of the bridesmaids dresses and flowers together! The yellow, blue and pink just looks so summery and fun! Just like Jamie! :)
Bellingham (amazing) DIY Wedding | You had me at Tire Swing! | Kaylee Eylander Photography
August 21, 2010I have so many weddings that I need to blog!! Yikes! I guess its good to be busy! When I received my first email from Amy...she told me a little about her wedding...that it was going to be on a homestead near a river, there was raspberry rows, huge amazing trees and a tire swing....I started drooling and was jumping up and down inside!!! Then when I met with them and saw what a fun and loving couple they were...it just made me that much more excited to shoot their wedding. Then....we shot their engagement session at an amazing place they called the Kissing Tree...on the beach in Bellingham...and once I saw how comfortable they were in front of the camera (read: they were so into each other...they acted I wasn't there!)...I knew their wedding would be amazing! And it was. After I met Amy and her incredible group of gals that
I loved this wedding at Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine, Washington! It is the closest thing to a destination wedding location Washington has to offer in my opinion! My hubby & I ended up staying the night...swam in the pool and had an amazing breakfast the next day. If you are looking for a chance for your guests to just get way and enjoy themselves...this would be a great way to do it! These guys had such amazing people surrounding them that day. After learning that Meagan had insisted that there be no Tulle allowed in the wedding decorations, the family decided to cover their bridal suite with pink tulle!:) Only a fun family would do that! I just died over these amazing.....AMAZING hot pink Kate Spade Wedding shoes! The great thing about these is that you can wear them for ever...on a hot date with your new hubs and always remember your
One of my favorite things about my job ( i have tons of these!), is when i get to see someone that I have known longer than 6 months get married. Like someone that I have known since childhood, or high school....And I have known Jack for (gulp) 20 years or so. When I was in 3rd grade, we moved to the little cute town of Arlington, Washington...into a house that Jack's dad was building. I can still remember images of him and his dad working on the house...and me running around the yard, picking up nails, planks and other stuff to make wood sculptures with. My brother and him became fast friends, especially because he lived at the end of the street. Along with the other boys on block...they got into some pretty fun trouble. Fast forward 10 years...when Jack lived in Austria, my brother visited and they tromped around
Seattle FunBooth Live Photobooth | Kara & Vance's Crazy Peeps! | Kaylee Eylander Photography
August 4, 2010For some reason....doing funbooths has been one of my favorite things this summer! I have had some crazy photobooths, and Kara & Vance's is at the top of the list. I don't know that I ever had to actually tell them to "do something crazy"....they didn't need any help at all. And that makes my job fun! Natalie and I had such a great time capturing these fun people! Kara & Vance's Funbooth from kaylee eylander on Vimeo. Wedding Venue & Catering: Blue Ribbon Cooking School, Seattle, WA (fabulous food and an amazing willow tree to get married under...all within minutes of Gasworks park!) August 2, 2010I love, love, love this engagement session in the trees that I did with Meghann & Rick. I love that they are living in Sequim Washington right now and we had a little Twilight moment. :) I actually haven't read the books or seen the movies, but I have seen the commercials....I don't live in a cave!:) I loved her amazing red locks against the green trees!!
