Rainn Wilson & Craig Robinson….Benefit for Mona Foundation | Seattle Event Photographers
October 26, 2010Wow. What a night! We had such a great time at the Rainn Wilson (you may know him as Dwight Shrute from the Office) & Friends (many, many friends) Benefit Show for the Mona Foundation on October 23 at the Paramount Theatre. I had no idea really what to expect when I heard that Holly of Perfectly Posh Events was putting on an After Party, but I love that The Mona Foundation supports universal education, and I knew I wanted to be a part of it. I was just discussing with my husband how amazing it is to see our 1st grader going from being able to read a few words, to being able to read pages in less than 2 months of being at school this year (props to Mrs. Forbes!) and I can’t imagine her not being offered that education because she is a girl, or because we didn’t have enough money.
There were so many great people at the show….
- The Presidents of the United States of America doing a special rare acoustic performance,
- Comedian Craig Robinson from “The Office” who, btw, got the entire Paramount Theatre to turn to their loved one and sing some pretty funny stuff to…including….”take your panties off”. Lets just say you had to be there….and I just about fell out of my chair laughing so hard!
- Sean Nelson (ex-lead singer for Harvey Danger),
- Andy Grammer (upcoming S curve recording artist) (you gotta see this cool video!) Warning!!! This song will be stuck in your head for the rest of the week! In a good way.
- Eric Corson & John Roderick from The Long Winters
- Amazingly California Rockish Band Blitzen Trapper
The Talented Andy Grammer opened the show with some great tunes.
Corey Nimmer, owner of The Hot Dog Stop, was serving up the classic Nimmer Dog.
Diane Dodson of Diane’s Delights…..yummy pumpkin pound cake!:)
My Husband & Co-Photographer, Drew Eylander, with Craig Robinson and Rainn Wilson!
Drew with Andy Grammer….both are talented singers. :)
My dear girl Tanya Williams (graphic designer extraordinaire)….and you also have a sneak peek of my new 35 1.4 lens, and my new Gary Fong Lightsphere. Without them….I would have been screwed. :)
Mahnaz Javid, One of the Founders of the Mona Foundation, with Craig Robinson. She spoke to me for a few minutes after taking this picture with my husband. She was so sincerely thankful and passionate about the cause of education…you can see why they are making such a huge difference. Thank You Mahnaz for doing what you are passionate about!
