Call me Crazy, But I'm Officially a Member of the No Poo Movement | Kaylee Eylander

Ok. Call me crazy. I don’t use shampoo any more. I am proudly, and excitedly becoming a member of the No Poo Movement. If you haven’t heard of it, google it. I dare you! Its kind of a long story of how this whole revolution in my hair care products has come about…but I am so excited about it…I had to share it with you!

So…about a month ago, I couldn’t sleep…(I think thanks to my Happy Light….and that is a whole other story…and I will blog about that soon!). As I was clicking through the channels…I saw a face I recognized on QVC. I’m not usually not a QVC kinda girl, but because I had seen Chaz Dean on one of my favorite shows, Flipping Out, on Bravo, I stopped to check it out…and at 2 in the morning, there wasn’t really alot to choose from. As I watched I realized (of course!) I had all of the nasty symptoms and HAD to try his Wen Hair Care products. My hair is dry, over processed and ready for some love. And like I said…I’m not a QVC kind of gal, so I just couldn’t bring myself to call in and order myself some. So I decided that the next step was to hop on the website the next day, and I would order some. Well…the moment passed, and by the time I woke up, I forgot all about my new hair revolution.

So a few weeks later when I was at Sally Beauty Supply….I ran into something that looked like a knock off of the Wen Haircare Products…and I decided that I had to try it! And by buying it there…I had instant gratification AND saved myself $20!

Call me Crazy, But I'm Officially a Member of the No Poo Movement | Kaylee Eylander So ….Here is the deal. I am in total love with this stuff! I am done with shampoo…and I am moving onto Hair Cleanser. I am not going to go into all the details of how this works…really because I just have no idea! I have read somethings about the glycerin cleaning your hair without the harsh chemicals….I just want want to tell you about all the great things it has done for me!

Now…to set this up…I have been coloring my hair for about 15 years!!! I know! Its a long time…and lately, I have really felt the toll its taken. Lots of hair loss and breakage. Not fun! I have tried just not washing my hair for a few days at a time, and my hair just gets really oily and gross. I look like a greasy mess. :( So I have used hair powder in the past…to get me through those days. Any way…onto the amazing benefits of this great product:

I have been using this for about 3 weeks and these are the benefits that I see:

  • I can go up to 4 days with out washing my hair. I rinse my hair with water on day 2, 3 & 4 if I want to. I massage my scalp, just like I would be trying to get the shampoo out, but I just rinse with water. It saves me time in the shower.
  • It takes less than half the amount of time for me to blow dry my hair as it used to…and its getting shorter! It used to take me 2o minutes with the blow dryer on my head…..and now it takes less then 7 minutes! Don’t ask me why…I have no idea! Maybe my hair absorbs less water? I don’t know…but if any of you do, I would love to know!
  • This is a HUGE one! The bumpy chicken skin on the back of my arms has completely disappeared! I have tried to exfoliate this off the back of my arms for the last 5 years, to no avail. My only guess is that the shampoo was irritating my arms?
  • I don’t use any volumizing products like I used to! My hair has alot more bounce and shine that it has in along time! And its soft!
  • I can all ready see little hairs growing in at my hair line and my hair feels thicker. Again…not sure why, but I love it!

Ok…so how does this apply to you? Well…if you are a bride who is getting married in a year from now, and you want to have healthy hair by then, get your booty into Sally’s and get your cute little self some Hair One. By Christmas, you will all ready see the changes!
