Four Seasons Downtown Seattle Wedding | Part 2
September 27, 2012Ok! So…here is part two to this amazingly fabulous Chinese American Wedding! Complete with Chinese Tea Ceremony and Dragon Lion Dance! It was incredible. I think I shed a tear when the drums rang out.
I can’t get over her gorgeous red chinese wedding dress! Its gorgeous!
This was the first Chinese Tea Ceremony I have ever photographed and it was so lovely. Their elders came to the front and the bride and groom offered them tea, they took a sip and have them a blessing. What a cool way to honor the special people in your life.
This is one of my favorite images of the whole wedding! Because they had the ceremony in the center of a circle of guests, I was able to stand behind the groom. This is an angle that I don’t often get because usually it would be really distracting in a traditional style ceremony. What a treat!
They both said their own personal vows and they were really special! I loved that Will knew just what to say to get a laugh out of Tina. They are a pretty great match!
Face time with overseas family!
I love that while I was shooting the serene reception area….Drew was with these crazy groomsmen! What a fun wedding party these guys had!
I loved the look on this kiddo’s face when the dragon came straight for him…no worries…in the next frame, he was smiling!
Never in a million years did I think the below was going to happen while shooting the above. :) of course, I loved it.

Four Seasons Seattle Wedding | Seattle Wedding Photographer | Part 1
September 26, 2012
There are just too many pictures in from this wedding for just one blog post! When the bride has 3 dress changes, complete with new shoes, the girl deserves more than just one blog post! I love that Will and Tina incorporated some Chinese traditions, as well as having a Western Style Ceremony. It was like the best of all of their worlds.
All of the wedding day events took place at the ever modern and gorgeous. We would have even needed to leave the hotel if the weather hadn’t been so beautiful. There are just so many places to take amazing pictures. I was very impressed! It had so much light and great lines.
I LOVE when grooms wear suits!
I loved Tina’s chinese style dress. She got it all the way in Hong Kong. And the shoes! eek! Loved those too!
The shoes and I had our very own photo shoot! I just couldn’t stop shooting them!
In the program when their guests got to their seats, they were surprised when they opened their programs that told them that Will and Tina had been all ready married on a date that was to bring them good luck. So this was their 2nd chance to commit themselves to each other.
Tina had such a fun wedding party!
I loved that the first thing Tina did when she got a little anxious…was call Will….who was just downstairs. I think he said…
I Love you, boo-boo! :) He knew just what to say!
Oh!! I loved these shoes so much!!
I loved that we were able to do their first look on the Pool Deck of the Four Seasons in Seattle! It was such a beautiful day…it made me so happy! It was perfect!
I think this was one of my favorite shots of the wedding party! Will and Tina love the city…and these next shots just capture that!
We got a few shots over in the Seattle Art Museum! It was totally worth going over there. I loved how these turned out!

Thornewood Castle Wedding | Seattle Wedding Photographer
September 24, 2012
When my sister in law was getting married about 4 years ago, my mother in law found this amazing venue….Thornewood Castle. It was too far too have her wedding there, but it was amazing. She showed me the website and I was instantly in love! I mean, what girl doesn’t love a castle! Who knew we even had a castle in the Northwest?? I didn’t!
Mistie and Josh’s wedding was perfect there. It was held in the Secret walled garden, that is still much like it was when it was created. I loved the history and the glamour that Thornewood Castle provides! It was so fabulous!
When I walked in and saw this wedding gown, I thought…This wedding gown needs more sparkle!
I was dying over Mistie’s Bestsy Johnson “party shoes!” Hello! They are to die for! I love a good pair of wedding shoes.
Can you believe that Mistie made her own headpiece?? I told her she needed to start an Etsy shop! I don’t know how she did it, but it was the perfect sparkle in her hair for this glam-bling wedding!
This whole stair case was taken out of an English Manor and brought to Thornewood Castle to have the house built around it! It thought it was so gorgeous.
Alot of fun happening with these two.
I loved this bridesmaid dress/shoe combo.
I thought this was such a cool idea! A new take on the guest book….a signed guitar! I loved that they will remember how special it was to have all of their family and friends around them on their wedding day! Better yet…hang it on the wall in a living room…and enjoy it everyday.
These two had such a fun, special relationship (well..all of the family did!)…it really showed as he walked her down the aisle!

Senior Portraits | What to Wear | Basic to Bombshell
September 21, 2012One of my favorite things I have learned since meeting my dear friend and fabulous make-up artist and Stylist, Terri Fields, owner of Basic to Bombshell is….well…I’ve just learned so much!! For one thing…her claim to fame is that you can mix metals!!! AHHH!! I didn’t even know that was 1. Possible, or 2. cool! :) I thought you had to keep gold with gold and silver with silver and so on! Little did I know!
Here are some of the other things I have learned from her:
1. Embrace the Trends…if you’re younger, go bold! If you are older, take one piece that is the trend, and put it with other basics.
2. It doesn’t have to match…it needs to “go”. Your shoes don’t need to match your belt and purse, and earings and necklace and so on. Just have pieces that you loved mixed with neutrals and you are good to go!
3. A bold necklace goes a long way. I used to have the hardest time choosing my accessories….so I just threw up my hands and just said…forget about it! But…after watching Terri for a year and a half…I’ve seen that she usually wears a bold necklace and it just finishes off her look so perfectly. This was an easy trick for me to use and I love it.
4. Jewelry doesn’t have to be expensive…it just needs to look like it is! Terri will show up with the cutest necklace or ring and I will gasp….then she will proceed to tell me that she got it at Target for $4 or something ridiculous like that! :) The girl knows how to shop!! :)
Ok…that is just a few things….She’s a wealth of knowledge and I swear that I learn something from her every time I am with her!
Here is a darling look she put together with a black and yellow theme! All of these items are under $50 from either Old Navy, Kohls or Target! Love it! This outfit would be perfect for Senior Portraits because it is bold and makes a great statement!
