Ahhh…another love story that literally seems like a movie plot! I love Michelle & Julio’s story…it goes a little something like this: PS>>>super condensed version!!!

Michelle has had a love for Spanish speaking cultures forever…little did she know that her future husband was speaking fluent English but lived somewhere in Mexico….little did she know that she would meet him on a trip to Mexico to translate for her brother’s engagement and party.

Lo and behold another “translator” was invited to help.  He thought she didn’t speak spanish, she thought he  didn’t speak english…and when they found out that the other could fluently speak their language…intrigue ensued. Then…Michelle found out  Julio sometimes would buy books in english to keep up on it….and as you can see…that book was The Shack (of course, this is one of Michelle’s FAVORITE books). During the 2 hr drive to the town where the engagement party was taking place, Julio and Michelle’s dad talked the whole way…and what girl doesn’t love that!? Anyway….by the end of her time there, Julio and Michelle knew there was something special between them and were excited to continue their new found friendship over skype and facebook im.

Their friendship continued and they fell in love!

I so enjoyed my session with them! I loved that Michelle brought a few little things that told their story!

I’m such a sucker for love stories. I love to hear all the details…and Erika & Paul’s story is one of my favorite kind. The kind of love story where two people are “just friends” for years and years….and then finally one day…you look at each other and realize that you love hanging out with the other person and just can’t imagine life without them!  Sounds kinda like some kind of summer love movie plot…heck, I would go see that movie!! :)

I think I died when I saw Erika in the parking lot….is her dress not to die for?? Mod Cloth!! I love this dress….and this one! Anyway…then…she pulled her incredible beach cruiser + basket out of her truck and my heart skipped a beat! :) I want one of these soo stinkin bad! Crossing my fingers for mother’s day! :) Hint>>> Drew!

We had such a blast shooting their session…I am so thankful for clients that are willing to climb on railroad tracks and lay down in the grass!   Erika & Paul! I can’t wait for your wedding day!!

I had such a great time with Maura & Kyle at Discovery Park in Seattle. This is absolutely one of my favorite places to shoot in the Seattle area. Tall grass, cool random old buildings, the water and an amazing lighthouse…can it get any better than that!  I cannot wait for their wedding this summer!

We recently shot a wedding at one of my favorite wedding venues….Swan’s Trail Farm in Snohomish! This super fun DIY wedding was full of so many great details…I’m just going to share a few of my recent favorites!  More images coming soon!

Amber sewed into her wedding gown her wedding date…of course, in blue thread! She also included a heart shaped piece from her mom’s wedding gown. I loved this idea for her
“something blue!”

Amber’s sweet and spunky grandpa walked her down the aisle…so he got to have a sneak peek before Amber’s first look with Mitch. I loved the emotions here. 

My husband, (and 2nd shooter) Drew captured this great shot….such a special moment!! 

I loved all of these round bales of hay! 

I’m not sure when it happen…but my little girl is turning into a young lady. I’m not sure if I’m ready for it…but there is nothing I can do. I’ve been trying to embrace it…and just enjoy the ride. Today when she put this skirt on and said…”Mom! Let’s do a photoshoot!” …I jumped. I know I’m not going to get these precious little moments forever, so we ran out side and shot while the sun was still out. She literally looks like a girl version of my husband..its so funny to see. I am so thankful for her sense of adventure and confidence. I’m thankful that she still wants to hang out with me. :)

He didn’t want to do a photoshoot…but I did make him take just 1!! :)

I had so much fun shooting Noah’s 1st Birthday cake smash. He is so stinkin cute. And a happy boy!

Props. They can be cheesy. But sometimes cheesy is good. I love when my clients bring things that are special about them to our engagement sessions! This could be as simple as a letter of their new name together, football jersey’s or startbucks cups! Below are some of my non cheesy ways to incorporate props into your engagement session!

There is something about photographing people that just love life. It makes my job so easy…and Katrina & Spenser are 2 of these people! They enjoy living.  I loved so many details of this wedding…I was so surprised to hear that there were a ton of DIY details! For some reason, when I think of DIY, I don’t really think of Glamour and sparkles, but they totally showed me that it can be done!

I LOVE THIS CAKE!

Seriously…one of the best toasts I’ve heard in my 10 years of shooting weddings! The grooms brother had the whole room in stitches and in the palm of his hand…And the bride still hugged him after. Great story telling and a lot of love.

I love that this classic image below looks makes you wonder what era is was actually shot it! Such a timeless look to the style of this wedding!

Part of what I love about weddings is being able to see people doing what they love…I love that Spenser’s Grandma was getting in the mix on the dance floor! This lady was an inspiration! You can tell where the Sado brothers get their love of dancing!!

I loved that they had Bar food come out around 7:30…it was a fun surprise!
