How long have you been doing photography?
I have been taking pictures ever since I was a child, and still have the pictures I took on my 3rd grade field trip to the Woodland Park Zoo. I received a Minolta SLR for my 16th birthday, and noticed such a difference between that and a point and shoot…and started taking pictures all the time. Then came yearbook staff in high school. I loved seeing my images in print. I decided after high school to travel around the country in a production company that did high school assembly programs…it was an amazing experience, and I loved photographing New York, Boston, Michigan, and all over the country…as well as performing. Then I came home and took some college classes, and while getting my AA, I took a photography class….and that just sealed the deal for me. A year later, I got married, had my daughter and decided to really pursue photography full time. And I haven’t looked back! I’m constantly attending conferences and learning new techniques….photography is something that never gets old!
How long have you been doing wedding photography?
I have been shooting weddings for 7 years. Over these 7 years I have learned so much about weddings! Wow! I now know how to bustle any style dress, attached any veil and make sure that the groomsmen’s corsages are all on correctly.![]()
Why you start shooting weddings?
I LOVE weddings! I love all things wedding. I love the flowers, the dresses, the colors….but most of all, I love capturing the relationship of 2 people in love. I love stealing the little moments of laughter, nervousness and tenderness between a groom and his bride. Over the years, I have learned to help those who need a little direction, and those that are very comfortable in front of the camera, I like to just step back and capture what they do naturally. When a client is amazed at how easy our session has gone, then LOVES the images, I have done my job right.
What sets you apart from other photographers?
I love to try new things. I love personally being at every wedding, so I don’t send associates in my place. My creative eye is what sets me apart and there is only one of me! I love being in new places, finding the best little nook and crany of a venue. I love to make my clients laugh…and making them feel super comfortable. I put my clients in the best light available, and then I just let them enjoy each other…to capture that special something between them. I love to capture what makes a couple special…if they met on a fishing boat, I would love to shoot them in the water. If they had their first kiss in a tree…lets go to that tree. If they love their doggie…lets bring them along on the shoot.
Who is your ideal client?
My ideal client is one who wants to try new things or something different! I love it when people are willing to lay on the ground, walk in the woods or sit on the old broken down car. I love vintage weddings, DIY weddings and weddings that are super personal. I love colorful weddings!
Who is not going to benefit from your services?
People that wouldn’t benefit from my services are people who don’t value creative photography, something different or want a cookie cutter basic wedding photographer.
