I really love it when I walk into a wedding venue like Lord Hill Farms and the decor just takes my breath away! Flowers by the amazing Chelsea at Stadium Flowers and the paper lanterns just made me gasp! I loved every single thing that Bryan and Jenn put together for this fabulous wedding.

How they met:  Bryan was on tour with Matt Bekker across the US and landed at Jenn’s Sorority in Arizona, where she was the president and had booked them. After the show, she was supposed to invite them to a pool party (it rained), but they exchanged numbers and started texting…the rest was history! {Make sure to check out Matt Bekker’s music page and listen to Poetry in Motion.}

Her Dress: You won’t believe this, but Jenn got her wedding dress for $50! This girl is amazing! When she originally saw it, it had lace all the way up to the neck…but she had it reworked to have a sweetheart neckline. You never would have known, the dress is fabulous!

Why was Jenn & Bryan’s wedding so amazing???

Was it the cool purple watches that the groomsman wore? Was it the cute etsy purses that bridesmaids got? The great purple argyle socks? The great djs? The koby beef sliders and fries? The purple white and grey paper lanterns? The epic funbooth? The groom surprising the bride by singing her a song and she burst into tears? Um…all of the above…and so. much. more.

I only have time right now to post just one image from this fabulous, modern wedding, so I decided that this was the one! When I walked into Lord Hill Farms, one of my favorite wedding venues in Snohomish County, I saw the ceiling over the dance floor just covered in purple, grey and white paper lanterns of every size! It was glorious. I think I might have gasped and pointed….while I was in the middle of a conversation with the wedding coordinator! Honestly. Did they just read my mind or what????!!  I know that a lot of hard work was done by all the wedding party and family to make that moment happen, and I appreciated every last second of that hard work. I wanted to capture it in all of its glory, so I decided to move the couch over to the dance floor, use my of camera flash, and I got the shot I was looking for!

For  this pooch friendly engagement session, we headed to Centennial Trail in Machias…no rain was going to get us down! It seems like every Engagement  session I’ve shot for the last month has had at least a few drops of rain….luckily, Amber, Mitch and the boys didn’t care. I love that Amber calls their dogs, the boys!

Amber & Mitch both had dogs when they met….He had a big chocolate lab, and she had a french bulldog. He had a rule about not having them sleep in their bed, and she snuggled with Bruno every night. Now they have a sweet little family and I can’t wait for their amazing wedding in September!!!

How they met: Mitch and Amber met at a Dirt Bike Race….and the rest is history!

Their Wedding: I can’t wait for their laid back wedding in September…complete with cowboy boots, hay bales and line dancing! Woop!  Its should be a fabulous september evening!

Oh my goodness!!! I love this sweet little french bull dog…with a teaspoon of terrier! :) He was so funny…I think he marked every single fence post at Centennial Trail. :)

I had to squeeze just a few more of these sweet dogs into this post! So cute. I actually think I might want one!

baby fix!! yep. I needed one too! As I was walking through the baby aisle looking for a squeaky toy for this shoot, I actually teared up a little as I thought about how big my kiddos have gotten and wondering if there are more babies in our future? Who knows! We’ve been talking about it for almost 5 years…and still pretty unclear what the future holds!

So, every once and a while a need a snuggle from a little sweet baby to quench my thirst for some baby goodness and this guy did it!

Take a look at these big blue eyes! This little guy is  a heartbreaker!

I love baby smiles! But I also love all of the other cute baby faces they make!

This is one of those times where having dimples on your booty is perfectly acceptable and actually encouraged! :) 

I love this vintage suitcase and vintage bear mama brought out for this baby session. The vintage suitcase holds her childhood toy horses and the vintage bear was dad’s! So cute.

Can’t forget the poochie! He was totally ready for his close up!

Their Session:   I had so much fun with Shala & Dan at Howarth Park. This location has so much to offer!  Beaches, driftwood, trees, bridges, railroad tracks….plus, Shala lives about 2 seconds from there! :)

How They Met: These guys met at a bible study and his sisters helped nudge them together…I love it when the siblings all ready approve!  What I find even more interesting is that they went to the same church for years before even meeting each other! Imagine that!  Her family went to one service, and his went to another…and their paths just didn’t cross. Until they met later on in life. I guess it was just meant to be!

How He Proposed: He proposed at christmas tree farm….when they went to get a christmas tree…the happen to come along to an all ready decorated tree in the middle of the tree farm….and when she looked a little closer, the ornaments had pictures of them on it! :)  Love that idea! ps…the fun sisters helped and decorated for him!

Their Wedding Venue: Rosehill Community Center in Mukilteo, Washington. I can’t wait to shoot here! It brand new and from the pictures online, I know its going to be fabulous.

Their wedding colors: Black, white and HOT PINK! :) I cannot wait to see her hot pink wedding shoes!

I met up with  this great couple a few days ago at Pike Place Market for their engagement session. Here are just a few from their fun session!

(pause!) Pinkeye hit my house as the day I was uploading this session….so here comes the rest of the story! On a side note…my 8 year old daughter wrote a song about her bout with Pink Eye….and recorded it on our Ipad Garage Band app….when I  figure out how to post it, I will! Its super catchy…and its been stuck in my head for 2 days now.

Their Engagement Session: We headed to Pike Place Market! I love it when the weather report says cold and possible rain…and we end up with blue skies and sunshine! :)  We did some fun things for their save the date…but I’m going to keep that under wraps and let them share their creative ideas with you (that is besides their cute wedding date pic! )

Their Wedding: First of all…when I met with Ciara and Cody, I have to say…it was almost like they read my mind and figured out what I would consider to be an amazing wedding!  They are going to get married outside at a friend’s Bed and Breakfast, complete with a white tent and a dance floor. (you had me at outside!) Then they proceed to tell me that the dance floor and a pergola to get married under will be milled out of  old power poles that Cody got from his work as a lineman. I was like….YESSSSSSSSSS!!!   Stop me there. No….they kept going! Southern BBQ and Cowgirl boots??? YESSSS Please!!  White lights and paper lanterns? yep!  Wedding Colors, you ask? Ivory, Black and Golden Orange? woop! Ciara so so creative…I can’t wait to see what else she has up her sleeve!

Seriously. I’m. so. excited!  These are the weddings where I arrive and I think to myself…PINCH ME! I LOVE my job!

The Farmer and Snow White got married. And I was there.

This weekend, we got to spend the day up in Roche Harbor on San Juan Island. I’m a sucker for a good ferry ride through the San Juans, so this was right up my alley! When I met with Rachel & John, they were so laid back and just excited to get married and hang out with their family and friends.  John is a cattle farmer and Rachel met him a country fair! Isn’t that amazing!

As we headed up to the wedding, it was raining/snowing on the mainland…but the luckily the San Juan Islands are in a rain shadow…and all though we had a few sprinkles, we shot mostly everything outside! Thanks to an adventurous bride and groom…and wedding party!

Can you believe this little white chapel on the hill in Roche Harbor? It was so quaint and perfect. I loved it so much!

I loved these leopard  print ballet flats that Rachel wore on her wedding day. Comfy with some sass. I like it!

One of my favorite shots of the day…she totally reminds me of snow white!

The first look is my favorite time of the day and this wedding didn’t disappoint. I love when you can tell how happy the groom is ( the bride is always happy!)…and John hadn’t seen Rachel in 7 days….and he was very happy! :)

One of my favorite places in Rhoche Harbor is the English Garden in the middle of the village. It, like most of the buildings, is original to the town and is just so lovely!

This pictures is exactly why I take so many pictures at a wedding! It was a split second kiss that momma stole from her son….and despite his quickness…I was quicker! :)  Momma will have this picture forever!! :)

Roche Harbor, San Juan Island aka Magical, Nautical….and an amazing place to have a classic washington wedding! I just had to share a few images from our way up through the San Juans to the amazing  Roche Harbor! Loved our day!

The last time we were up there was 8 years ago, and its been calling me back ever since! I was so excited when we were hired to shoot a wedding in Roche Harbor and I’ve been looking forward to our trip up there since then!
