Ah! Something about Lace & burlap just makes me smile. I loved all of Sasha and Kyle’s fun DIY details….the tin cans with lace and burlap holding the forks, the cute old fashioned candy favors, fun signs, the collection of mismatched china for dinner ware. There was a home-yness and a comfortable feel for this wedding that I really loved.
There ceremony was held on a gorgeous Thursday evening at Hillcrest Park Lodge in Mt Vernon, Washington. The Lodge has a lovely little garden with some Japanese touches…which is fitting, because Sasha is 1/4 Japanese. :) They were surrounded by 20 of their closest family and friends. Their good friend did the ceremony, and you could just feel the sincerity and love in the garden.
The next evening, they had their recpeption with lots of family and friends. It was perfect.
I loved how just a little lace, burlap and hot glue can transform a little old can of beans to a lovely little vase.
The Brides brother in law handled all the florals for the chairs! :) Again…another simple way to bring burlap into your wedding.
EEK! I think I may have squealed when I saw this old piece of fence with their last name and wedding date hand painted on it! I think I might just have to steal this for my front porch!
I have been shooting weddings for almost 9 years and I have never seen this….a First Fight Box. It was filled with love notes to each other and a bottle of Monogamy wine! Love that! During the reception, they took the time to nail it closed and they will tuck it away for the day they get into their first fight! Love that idea! Though I’m pretty sure my hubby and I had a few big fights before the wedding day….we could have made a 5th Fight Box. :)
