Love Session | Lisa & Anthony
September 12, 2012As a photographer, there is one thing I wish people could wrap their brains around: You don’t have to have any reason to have your photographs taken. There doesn’t have to be a holiday, birthday, marriage or anything to just make it happen. I love that when Lisa contacted me, she just wanted cute pictures of her and her boyfriend. Its that simple! :) She’s going to the University of Washington in a few weeks and just wanted to have their love captured. What a perfect reason.
We hung out at our newish studio in Lake Stevens and every time I shoot here…I am so thankful. I love the tall grass, the trees and every little inch of these 5 acres. I know that soon the sun will go away and the washington rain will come…and I will head indoors for lots of indoor studio work…and I will be so sad! Then I will wait till spring, when I can come back out into my amazing field for some more fabulous shoots!
I loved that when I asked Anthony to hold these…and for Lisa to make a cross with her fingers…she said….”I’m not really that good at math! ” So funny!
Remember…you don’t need to have a specific reason to get your family, relationship or child’s images captured. If you would like to book a shoot, please visit my contact page or email me at Kaylee@eylanderphotography.com

Lake Stevens Family Photographers | Faulk Family!
July 30, 2012I recently had a family portrait weekend and I had so much fun meeting all these great families! I love watching family dynamics and being able to capture some real intereaction and lovin between siblings and families! It was so fun to pull out our vintage couch, chairs and just tromp around the field at our new studio! It was a blast!
Of course I loved the colors these guys chose! Blues are my favorite…if you haven’t heard me mention that before!
If you are looking for relaxed, outdoor family portraits…where we are looking for those real smiles, not the fake ones…please email me at kaylee@eylanderphotography.com! I would love to meet your family too!

These peeps are a fun bunch! I had such a great time photographing them at our new studio and property. The kids played “tiger” in the tall grass on their down time….and I bribed them with otter pops! I’m totally all for bribery…if the situation calls for it! :)
One of the things these guys did perfectly was choosing what to wear! Its really hard to not look too “matchy”, but still look like you actually tried (but not too hard!) . A really great way to do this is to choose 4 colors to work with for your family session. Let everyone decide what to wear based on these 4 colors and then it just works! Usually! :)
I am absolutely LOVING shooting family portraits on our new property and I’m getting so excited for our Summer family portrait days this weekend! I do still have a few spots left for this weekend (july 28 & 29). If you are interested in capturing your family in this amazing outdoor setting, please email me at Kaylee@eylanderphotography or visit my contact page. I would love to capture your family too!

ahhh. there’s nothing like when a session just goes right. lots of laughter, the weather cooperates and 2 in love people…that enjoy being around each other, dragging some cool antique furniture out into {MY!!!} field to shoot…. That is my dream job. Pretty often, I get most of those items…and just yesterday, I all the stars fell into line and it was pretty amazing!
This little family fit so well together, I loved to see them giggling and so happy!
How they met: these two have a mutual friend in common, and once she asked him out…the rest was history! :)
Their engagement Session: Since we moved to our fabulous new studio, I’ve been dying to get someone out in the field and on our glorious new vintage couch (that I got at the Glen Eagle Garage Sales!)…I knew Sasha would be game, so they came to the studio for their session. I love that I can walk out the door to work!
Their Wedding: These two are tying the knot in Mt Vernon next month. I can’t wait!
This is one of my favorite images of the whole shoot!
Little June was so excited to explore and find flowers….she was such a doll!
If you would like to have family or engagement session shot in this amazing location or on this glorious vintage couch, email me at Kaylee@eylanderphotography. I would love to hear from you!
