So a few weeks ago I put out a plea for some bird cage veil brides. I had found a few on etsy and just loved them so much I wanted to start shooting more of them….and made an offer for brides with birdcage veils to find me! Little did I know that the next 2 weddings that I had were to be brides with birdcage veils…and an amazing vintage style hat, made by none other than the Henrietta of Henrietta’s Hats on E. Madison. This had was a beautiful sight to see! It perfectly matched Grace’s dusty rose bow on her wonderful vintage wedding gown and it brought the whole ensemble together for one glorious vintage look.
I have a soft place in my heart for vintage style hats with birdcage veils. Why, you ask? My dad is not the most opinionated person, but one thing he did have an opinion on, and one of his preferences that stick out in my mind was that he loves to see my mom in hats with a veil…..(popular in the 80′s)…and she has one in red, blue, black, ivory, and just about any color she can find. I love that she finds fun occasions to bring out those hats and make my dad proud.
After we got ready, we headed over to the Seattle Asian Art Museum in the middle of Volunteer Park for the First Glance. I loved the look on Tom’s face when he saw his beautiful bride for the first time….I also loved that they both relaxed so much when they finally were in each other’s arms for the first time that day. There is something so wonderful when you can physically see that a couple finds calm and peace when the are held by their soon to be spouse.***one of my favorite things about my job!***
Above was my favorite shot of the whole day!
This dainty bouquet of pink roses and white stephanotis was just too lovely! The perfect bouquet for her dress and hat….this girl has great style!
One thing about weddings in Seattle is that you MUST MUST MUST always have umbrellas ( i luckily have 10 large black umbrellas that I bring to every wedding!)….Its fun to have a perfect umbrella for your day….We happen to have the amazing Bella Umbrella close, so there is no excuse for not having a cool one for your wedding day. So think ahead and rent something amazing! You will be so happy you did…even if it doesn’t rain, you will still get some amazing images!
