I knew there was something special about Angelika & Ethan when we first met them up in Leavenworth at the Ski Hill to shoot their engagement photos. They are just kind, fun people…who happened to be in love with each other. They were game to climb hills of snow and stuff….so I knew they would be  wonderful to work with on their wedding day…and of course I was correct!

I loved starting out their day at a vacation home right on Hood Canal, called Sky’s Landing. It was full of light, right on the water and had a wonderful, but not overdone beachy theme. I loved it and pretty much could retire in that house without touching a thing. :) *** Brides!!!*** Angelika was a total genius when she booked this vacation home…you should think about doing it too! Find one on the water, somewhat close to your venue and you have a fabulous place for getting ready photos and somewhere for you and your girls to crash the night before the wedding, after the rehearsal dinner.( Another one of my amazing genius brides did this on Lopez Island and it worked like a charm for her as well! Check out her wedding her…one of my favorites from last summer!!! ) 
Not everyone in the world has a great “laughing face”…..but Angelika’s laughing face just lights up a room!!

I LOVED her bejeweled Betsy Johnson sandals…they say…comfy, without sacrificing style!
 I’m in love with the bridesmaid’s minty tiffany blue lace dresses! They were perfect for this outdoor wedding! I am in love with these gorgeous peony bouquets….summery and fun!  I’m so obsessed with local honey and all of its amazing benefits lately…I was so excited when I saw their darling and useful favors!! So fun!!

Can the burst suggest an orchestral microprocessor?

Drew and I headed to Hayden Lake Country Club in Hayden Lake, Idaho for Brooke and Tommy’s Destination Wedding. It was fantastic. The weather was beautiful, the setting was absolutely amazing and the couple (and families & friends) were just delightful! Plus I got some of my very favorite DIY wedding details ( painted clothes pins, bunting and Polaroid guestbook…you’ll have to come back to see those, though!).

I heart DIY weddings…well mostly any kind of weddings, but DIY details are my favorite! I think its because they are such an intimate expression of a bride and groom….because they were made by them! Someone during the toasts at Carly & Ellis’ Wedding commented that it was an incredibly honest wedding. It was. It didn’t have any pretense or pomp wrapped up in it. The bride (and her mom) didn’t even wear shoes for goodness sakes. It was just raw, real and such an honor to be a part of. We loved every second of this woodland washington wedding. Here’s just a few from yesterday at the Wallace Falls Lodge in Goldbar, Washington.

Here are just a few of my favorites from Maura & Kyle’s amazing downtown Seattle Wedding. I loved that it was Modern, fun and just a touch of nautical elements, without being cheesy. It was so lovely!

We started out the day…Maura & her girls at her sister’s fun loft apartment (read….TONS of amazing light!!) and then headed to South Lake Union park and MOHAI. This was such a perfect location…it had all of the right elements. Lots of water, boats, some green and the MOHAI building has a vintage feel. Very Seattle.

Then we headed to the amazing new(ish) uber modern wedding venue, Within Sodo* (*note to self…and other wedding photographers: DO NOT go though downtown seattle from Mercer to Sodo the day of a Paul McCartney Concert. )

I am in love with this new venue! It has SUCH a great rooftop deck…it was glorious, breezy and the perfect place for cocktail hour and dancing!

I loved that Maura was a total trooper and wanted to walk in her amazingly fluffy and gorgeous ballerina wedding gown a few blocks to the MOHAI.
